These rovings are made from Dorset wool and have a 26-32 micron range.
Roving's (also called roping) are thick, continuous cords of carded wool for use in hand-spinning, hooking rugs, saddle pads, and felt making. They are approximately 3 inches in diameter.
Using the woolen milling system, our carded wool is brushed, not combed, creating a continuous web with fibers travelling in all directions.
This characteristic significantly quickens the felting process in needle-felt making.
Wool rovings are perfect for all your crafting needs! You can knit thrummed mittens, spin with it, and use it for all sorts of needle and wet felted projects.

Wool Locks are washed, uncarded locks of wool from various sheep breeds with nice curls. They take dye excellently and can be used to add texture and shine to wool felt and hand-spun yarns. They are also commonly used for doll hair, Santa beards, and teddy bear fur.

The 100% Wool Felted Mats are made from wet felted Merino or Rambouillet carded wool. They are excellent for needle felting on to or for using as thick felted, fabric for things like mitts, boot liners, bed pads, and baby soakers. They are a soft felt, so can easily be added onto with needle felting or wet felting techniques. They can also be washed down to make a harder felt.
Each mat measures approximately 20 inches x 24 inches

Washing
When washing wool products, the important thing is not to agitate the wool, as this causes the fibers to mat together and shrink. Soaking and spinning, though, are fine.
Wash Instructions for Top-loading Washing Machines
1) Fill your machine with warm water and soap. Agitate the water to dissolve the soap.
2) Stop the machine and add your wool.
3) Plunge gently up and down by hand to clean.
4) Let soak for a 15 minutes.
5) Set machine to spin and turn it on, allowing the machine to spin out the soapy water.
6) Fill your machine again with warm water to rinse.
7) Stop the machine (do not allow it to agitate the wool).
8) If desired, add fabric softener.
9) Plunge gently up and down by hand to rinse.
10) Let soak for 15 minutes.
11) Set machine to spin and turn it on, allowing the machine to spin out the rinse water.
12) Hang to dry: comforters, sleeping bags, mattress pads, socks, mitts or hats.
Lay flat to dry: sweaters.
Just remember... DO NOT agitate the wool!

Our carded wool is 100% pure sheep wool, that has been carded/brushed to organize the fibers. Once carded, a continuous web of fibers is created and can be used for many applications, including but not limited to, thrumming, punch needle, quilting, doll stuffing and needle felting.
ONLY available in white.
